New Study Shows Foot Spa Massager Can Help Relieve Plantar Fasciitis Symptoms

2023-06-14

A foot hydromassage can help relieve symptoms of plantar fasciitis, according to a new study published in the Journal of Physical Therapy Science. Plantar fasciitis is a common condition that causes pain and inflammation in the heel and arch. It's usually caused by repeated straining of the plantar fascia, a thick band of tissue that runs along the bottom of the foot.

The study involved 30 participants with plantar fasciitis who used a foot hydromassage machine for 20 minutes a day, five days a week, for four weeks. The foot hydromassage machine used in the study combines heat, vibration and water jets.

The results showed that the foot hydromassage significantly reduced pain, stiffness and tenderness in the participants' feet. It also improved their range of motion and foot function.

Researchers believe that Foot Spa massagers may work by increasing blood flow to the affected area, promoting healing and reducing inflammation. They suggest that a foot hydromassage may be a safe and effective treatment option for people with plantar fasciitis.

However, it is important to note that the study was small and further research is needed to confirm these findings. People with plantar fasciitis should always consult a healthcare professional before trying any new treatments.
